Dr. George Cleveland Bradley is a highly accomplished individual who has excelled in various fields throughout his life. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1978 and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Math, from S.C. State University in 1983. He continued his studies at S.C. State University, earning a Master of Science in Mathematics Education in 1985. He then obtained a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Higher Education Administration, with a cognate in Research & Statistics, from Iowa State University in 1992. In 2004, he studied at Harvard University’s Institute for Educational Management.

During his time at Wilson High School, Dr. George C Bradley was an outstanding athlete, earning All-Conference and All-City honors in football in 1977 and 1978, as well as being named Team MVP in 1978. He was also recognized in basketball, earning All-Conference and All-City honors in 1978, as well as being named Team MVP in 1978. In addition to his athletic achievements, he was the Senior Class President and received a scholarship to S.C. State University for football.

At S.C. Dr. Bradley was part of the MEAC Championship teams in 1980, 1981, and 1982. His team also made it to the Division Ⅰ‐AA playoffs in 1981 and 1982. He was recognized as Player of the Game on seven occasions, and as a Senior, he was the team captain and was recognized as All MEAC.

After his college career, Dr. Bradley served as a Graduate Assistant in football at S.C. State from 1983 to 1985. He then became an Assistant Coach at Bethune‐Cookman College from 1985 to 1987.

Dr. George C Bradley has also made significant contributions to his community, serving on the boards of numerous organizations, including Rotary International, Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Augusta Symphony Board of Directors, and the Columbia Urban League. In recognition of his commitment as a teacher, administrator, author, and researcher, the South Carolina Legislature awarded him with the Lifetime of Services Concurrent Resolution in 2008. He was also awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Award by S.C. State University in 2009 and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the College of Human Services at Iowa State University in the same year.

In 2007, Dr. Bradley was named president of Paine University in Augusta, Georgia. The South Carolina General Assembly recognized and honored him with a resolution for his lifetime of service to the education of our nation’s youth. They expressed their gratitude for his commitment as a teacher, administrator, author, and researcher in the field of education for more than two decades.
